ABOUT THE MAN
Leafywonder is freelance illustrator Andrew Foley who you may find busy in his studio/hideout in the rural wilderness at the heart of Scotland's Southern Uplands. Here he will most likely be putting the finishing touches to some illustration or other. It may be for an editorial, newspaper or magazine. It could be for a publication, a book cover or perhaps a children's picture book. It has on occasion been for an advertisement, for a design project or a company logo. It will certainly be an illustration of quality, displaying the characteristics of warmth, good humou r and keen observation that are so redolent of this modest Scottish illustrator.
Did I mention he was Scottish? Born raised and educated in Scotland he studied for 5 years at the Glasgow School of Art, achieving a degree and postgraduate diploma in Illustration. Having worked professionally as a freelance illustrator for over 15 years Leafywonder has an eye to the international market, and is actively seeking new clients from across the globe as well as those in his own windswept neighbourhood.
He displays a natural flexibility, which allows for an application across the afore-mentioned creative fields and any others that you may care to think of.His influences are broad, taking in the visual arts, music and film. Much of what inspires him reflects his compulsive people watching and the observations that this may give rise to include a bemusement and bewilderment at the world around him. This in turn can cause obsessive, compulsive scribbling, a scene often punctuated with a throaty chuckle
